Get to know our board

Phillip Haid

Board Chair

Phillip Haid is Chair of the Board of Directors of Food Allergy Canada. Phillip is Co-founder and CEO of Public Inc., a social purpose business that creates fundraising, advocacy and volunteer engagement campaigns for social causes. Phillip has two sons with food allergies (peanuts, nuts and fish).

Bob Ellis


Bob Ellis is a director and Treasurer of Food Allergy Canada. Bob is currently a Senior Advisor with Deloitte Corporate Finance, where he advises private and public companies on mergers, acquisitions and capital raising initiatives. Prior to joining Deloitte, he held senior positions with Davis + Henderson, Scotiabank and Morgan Stanley. Bob has an MBA from The University of Western Ontario and is a registered CPA. Bob lives in Toronto with his wife and two children, a son who is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts and sesame, and a daughter who is allergic to eggs.

Mark Satov


Mark Satov is a director of Food Allergy Canada. He is a business advisor who works with a wide range of clients on their customer strategy through the work of his firm, SATOV Consultants. He is a frequent commentator on mainstream business media, including BNN, CBC and The Globe and Mail, providing his views on business events and trends. Mark lives in Toronto with his family. His eldest daughter is allergic to tree nuts.

Amy Outschoorn


Amy Outschoorn is a director of Food Allergy Canada. She presently works as the Director of Continuing Professional Development at the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). In this capacity Amy is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the CFPC’s MAINPRO® program, the framework, standards and guidelines for the continuing education of Canadian family physicians. Prior to joining the CFPC in 2012, Amy worked in the fields of sales, marketing, loyalty, instructional design and learning strategy She has energetic and entertaining twin boys, both of whom are severely allergic to peanuts and tree nuts.

Angela Harris


Angela Harris is a director of Food Allergy Canada. She is currently Corporate Account Manager, Healthcare Business Solutions at Cook Medical, a privately held company based in Bloomington, Indiana. Cook Medical manufactures over 16,000 products across 13 hospital service lines, and serves 135 countries. Angela has worked in Medical and Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing for the past 15 years, after starting her career as an athletic therapist and strength coach in the Canadian Football League. Angela is a proud graduate of Mount Allison University. Prior to joining the Board, Angela became involved with Food Allergy Canada as a mentor and educator. Angela lives in Dieppe, New Brunswick with her husband Stephen and two sons. Her oldest son is allergic to dairy.

Kevin Powers


Kevin Powers is a director of Food Allergy Canada. He is the managing partner of Campbell Strategies’ real estate and infrastructure lobbying practice. He has spent almost two decades working with all levels of government on both sides of the border. He lives in Toronto with his wife and two daughters.
